Recommended Solutions
The Recommended Solutions publication documents more than 150 regionally generated recommendations developed in response to identified transit safety gaps.
The process began with Task Force members identifying systemic challenges affecting transit operators and riders. Those gaps were then examined through structured focus sessions with the individuals and agencies closest to each issue, including transit operators, labor representatives, law enforcement, behavioral health partners, policy leaders, and transit agency staff.
Through this targeted engagement, participants developed a comprehensive set of potential solutions spanning prevention, intervention, enforcement, governance, coordination, and rider experience. The recommendations reflect operational expertise, frontline experience, and cross-jurisdictional collaboration.
These recommendations represent a broad inventory of potential actions. They are not a final implementation plan, funding commitment, or prioritized list.
The Task Force is now advancing into a structured evaluation phase to determine feasibility, resource requirements, sequencing, and priority levels. This process will inform the development of a detailed Regional Action Plan that defines ownership, timelines, milestones, dependencies, and measurable outcomes.
The forthcoming Action Plan will serve as the roadmap for systematically addressing identified safety gaps over time.
